Getting to Net Zero Communities

In 2014, Montpelier set a goal …to be Net Zero by 2030! A goal that needs vision. So, Net Zero Vermont asked me to sponsor a sustainable community design competition. The competition drew community planners, architects, and energy specialists from around the world to imagine how Vermont's capital city, Montpelier, could transition to net zero energy by 2030. Included in the requirements were sustainable growth, transportation, and public spaces. This competition, which imagines a future  of energy independence and community spaces,  is a great beginning to addressing our future.
